Configuring Firefox 1.5 for PC
Under the Tools menu select Options...
- Click the Privacy icon on the left
- In the Cookies section
- Click the Clear button on the right
- Click the + symbol beside Cookies to display further options
- Click to check the boxes beside Allow sites to set cookies and for the originating web site only
- Click the Exceptions button
- Type blackboard.com in the text box below Address of web site
- Click the Allow button
- Type utsystem.edu in the text box below Address of web site
- Click the Allow button
- Click the OK button in the Exceptions window
- Beside Keep Cookies select until they expire
- In the Cache section
- Click the Clear button on the right
- In the Cookies section
- Click the Web Features icon on the left
- If the box beside Block Popup Windows is selected do the following steps
- Click the Allowed Sites button
- Type blackboard.com in the text box below Address of web site
- Click the Allow button
- Type utsystem.edu in the text box below Address of web site
- Click the Allow button
- Click the OK button in the Allowed Sites window
- Click to check the boxes beside Load Images, Enable Java, and Enable JavaScript
- Click the Advanced... button
- In the Allow scripts to: list
- Check to be sure the box beside Hide the status bar is NOT selected
- Click to check the box beside Change status bar text
- Click the OK button in the Advanced JavaScript Options window
- In the Allow scripts to: list
- If the box beside Block Popup Windows is selected do the following steps
- Click the OK button in the Options window
Configuring QuickTime for PC
From the Start menu select Control Panel
Double click the QuickTime icon to launch QuickTime
- Click the Streaming tab
- In the Streaming Speed section click to select your connection speed from the pull-down menu (if you are using a high-speed connection select 256 Kbps DSL/Cable; if you are using a dial-up connection select 56 Kbps Modem/ISDN)
- Click on the Advanced tab
- In the Streaming section
- Click to select Custom... from the pull-down menu beside Transport Setup:
- In the Streaming Transport window
- Click to select HTTP from the pull-down menu beside Transport Protocol:
- Click to select 80 from the pull-down menu beside Port ID:
- Click the OK button in the Streaming Transport window
- In the Streaming section
- Click the OK button in the QuickTime Preferences window
Exit the browser and Restart your computer
