If you are a teacher or desire to be a teacher in secondary education, the Department of HRD / Technology offers a Health Science Technology certification program. (The certificate can also be earned as part of the Master of Science in Human Resource Development program.)

The State Board for Educator Certification grants these certifications and may have additional requirements. Please visit the SBEC requirements page for further information.

Completion of the following courses is required:

Health Science Technology

• HRD 5327 Instructional Improvement
• HRD 5332 Instructional Design and Assessment
• HRD 5313 Mgmt. of the Instructional Environment
• HRD 5331 Workforce Development  
• HRD 5333 Human Relations
• TECH 5370 Internship in Technology (Students register for this course through UTT. The internship is a teaching experience at a school district.)
