Blood Bank Technology Courses
The Blood Bank Technology program curriculum provides intensive professional study in both theoretical and clinical educational areas of immunohematology. The theory portion includes didactic online courses. The clinical component is provided at blood center and transfusion service settings near the student. Enrollment in the courses is restricted to students who have been accepted into this program.

- MT 5332 Serology (3 hours)
- MT 5330 Immunology and Hematology (1st yr. students) (3 hours)
- MT 5331 Human Blood Groups (3 hours)
- MT 5139 Advanced Case Studies (1 hour)
- MT 5335 Transfusion Therapy (3 hours)
- MT 5341 Donor Center Operations (3 hours)
- MT 5442 Management (4 hours)
Clinical Courses
- MT 5237 Serology Laboratory 1* (2 hours)
- MT 5538 Serology Laboratory 2 (5 hours)
- MT 5340 Transfusion Service Practice (3 hours)
- MT 5393 Donor Center Practice (3 hours)
- MT 5494 Education and Research+ (2nd yr. students) (4 hours)
37 TOTAL CREDIT HOURS
*Serology Laboratory 1 overlaps two semesters. The student registers only once for the course.
+Education & Research (4 hours) begins in the spring of the second year and is completed in the summer semester. The student registers only once for this course.
