Course Description
This course provides an overview of the discipline and the field of HRD. It will examine the set of systematic and planned activities designed by an organization to provide its employees with the necessary skills to meet current and future job demands: learning and human resource development, needs assessments, task analysis, designing and implementing training programs, evaluating training programs, career development, and organizational development. The primary focus will be on how individuals and groups learn and interact within organizations. Topics will include the history of HRD, the theoretical underpinnings of the discipline, learning, performance, training and organizational development.
