Campus Course Code: HECC 5393
UTTC Course Code: KINO 6346
Campus: UT Tyler
Program: Kinesiology
Course Description
This course involves analysis of selected contemporary controversial problems, or issues, related to health and/or kinesiology. Attention is given to increasing awareness of what the issues are, but emphasis is on rational development and evaluation of arguments offered in support of viewpoints on issues. A high level of success in this course is dependent on the student’s ability to develop, defend, evaluate and communicate regarding arguments on the basis of sound reasoning. The specific issues addressed in the course will be determined to a large extent by the professional interests and goals of the students enrolled, as well as by current events related to health or kinesiology.
