Course Description
The course is designed to help superintendents and other district educational leaders better understand the sociocultural context influencing and shaping district and campus cultures. A practicum or practical application is built into the course. We will work together to explore the multicontextual issues impacting today’s Superintendent and key educational leaders. learner-centered campuses and districts. The course goals and objectives are aligned with the 10 Texas Superintendent competencies and the seven NCATE/ELCC standards. The Texas SBEC Superintendent domains will include studying the Superintendent as Leader of the Educational Community, as Instructional Leader, and as Administrative Leader. The course will address the ELCC and AASA standards that will include examining:

The U TOPS professors are working with national leaders in the field of Superintendent training, and participating students will have an opportunity to study contemporary, emerging issues in Superintendent leadership.
