Course Description
This course provides the students the analytical and conceptual tools to understand the role international borders play in the context of globalization. The course will focus on the interplay among economics, politics and borders to explain outcomes such as integration (i.e. removing barriers) or conflict (i.e. erecting barriers) between neighboring nation-states. The course focuses on the Mexico-US border but other regions are included as points of comparison.
