Course Title: Histology
Campus Course Code: BIOL 3330
Campus: UT El Paso
Program: Non-Program
Course Description
Survey of tissue structure at the light microscopic level, with emphasis on animal specimens and identification. Not a course in preparative technique. A histology course has been found to be especially helpful to pre-professional students interested in attending medical and dental school where histology is one of the core courses taken during the first year.
Objectives
- To understand the structure of human tissues and organs and relate structure to function.
- To gain a sound understanding of biological principles which will serve as a solid foundation for more advanced biology courses.
- To utilize computer-simulated microscopy to understand and explore tissue and organ structure.
