 Course Description

In today’s climate of constantly rising healthcare costs, all health care professionals need to be aware of the importance of understanding as much about costs as they possibly can. This course covers the essentials of cost accounting from a health care perspective. Students will learn about the generation of useful cost information to aid managers in making decisions. Topics such as budgeting, inventory, productivity, performance evaluation and incentive compensation will also be covered. This is not a “numbers crunching “course. The student will learn the practical concepts on how to use the data to make management decisions. Any health care professional interested in management should take this course.
