Course Description

Streaming media promises increased access via the desktop to anywhere, anytime learning. This course provides a theoretical construct by which distance educators can infuse learner-centered principles and examine the possibilities for streaming media in online education. This course will take you through the process of adding streaming multimedia to the Web. We will start with the basics, including an introduction to multimedia on the Web, a discussion of design strategies, and practice in using the various software applications covered in this course. Then we will move on to capturing, preparing, and publishing multimedia using various streaming media products.
