Course Description
This course focuses on the nature of Texas politics and government. As any Texan will proudly tell you, Texas has a history and culture unlike any other state in the country. That unique beginning, combined with its economic and sociological culture makes the state interesting and exciting politically. In this course, we will strive to understand the policies, politics, and processes of Texas in light of the background unique to the state. We will also discuss how elections (in Texas and across the nation) might affect political life, and your life, in the future.
Material is presented through video lecture clips, traditional text readings, and extensive online resources. Class discussion will take place in a class listserv. There are 4 online exams that are multiple choice format based on readings and lectures.
