Course Description
This course is particularly for teachers interested in earning the ESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) Endorsement. They will read and discuss literature for children and young adults which reflects the culture and experiences of different racial, ethnic, and cultural groups. They will learn how to judge the literary quality as well as the cultural authenticity of multicultural literature, plus discuss teaching applications, including adaptations for culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
